Join us...Our hearts and doors are open!
a note from our Pastor...
As
your pastor, I want to share some of the ways, I am thankful for Oak Forest
United Methodist Church.
1)
We have a community of faithful believers who accept people for who they are
and challenge them to become better Disciples of Christ
2)
We have fun! Whether it's painting a Nativity Scene, cutting up catfish, or
performing, Oak Forest is a place that gives us an opportunity to express our
creative sides.
3)
We serve so many people. Shepherd's Hope, our free medical clinic continues to
help international students, unemployed folks, senior citizens, and new
immigrants. Through this ministry, we are fighting diabetes, high blood
pressure, sexually transmitted diseases, and the flu.
6)
We are a worshiping community that prays together, sings together and serves
together.
7)
Since 1943 Oak Forest has been offering Christ and serving our neighbors. We
still believe the words inscribed on the cornerstone of our building : Oak
Forest is dedicated "to the service of men (and women) and the glory of God."
Please
pray with me, "Lord, how are you calling me to serve your church, Oak
Forest, in 2011? In what ways are
you calling me to commit my time, my talent, my money, and myself?”
I'll
see you in church this Sunday,
Russ
